Annie Vo came to America the hard way — and earned every step of it. FACT: Annie fled Vietnam in 1991 and was granted political asylum in the United States. She built a life in Fishers, Indiana, and raised a family. (Reporting: WTHR, Fox59, Newsweek.) She traveled to Washington for January 6, 2021 alongside her son, Antony. In August 2024 — more than three years later — she was charged with misdemeanor offenses tied to entering the Capitol. She pleaded not guilty. (FACT.) THEIR ACCOUNT: a mother who walked in beside her son, a refugee who loved the country that took her in. NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: some court records list her under the name Annie Howell.
