Bobby Wayne Russell of Falkville, Alabama didn't hide when the FBI came in August 2022. He went on camera with his local news station and told his community, plainly, that he is a good man (THEIR ACCOUNT — WAAY 31 interview). The case: prosecutors said that at a bike-rack barricade line on the southwest side of the Capitol grounds, Russell grabbed a Metropolitan Police officer's jacket and both men fell down a short flight of stairs (FACT — court filings via WHNT). He took responsibility rather than fight it — he pleaded guilty to one felony count of assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers (FACT — WHNT). On November 17, 2023, he was sentenced to 12 months and a day, followed by two years of supervision (FACT — WHNT). On January 20, 2025, President Trump's clemency proclamation issued full pardons for January 6 convictions, including cases like Russell's (FACT).
