Christian Matthew Manley — Elkmont, Alabama. United States Marine. Before January 6 ever entered his story, Christian wore the uniform. FACT: Christian is a former United States Marine who served four years, born and raised in Alabama, last stationed at Fort Walton Beach, Florida (which is why some early headlines called him a "Florida man"). He was 26. He served his country before any of this. THEIR ACCOUNT: Supporters and his own advocates say he traveled to Washington alone to peacefully make his voice heard. FACT (court record): Christian pleaded guilty to assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers using a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced to 50 months in prison, 36 months of supervised release, and $2,000 restitution. The prosecution described him spraying and throwing canisters and a metal rod at officers at the Lower West Terrace. Charges are charges; the plea is the plea. FACT: On January 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency to January 6 defendants. A Marine who gave four years to this country. That service is real, it is his, and it belongs on this page.
