Christopher Patrick Moynihan is a New York man who was prosecuted for January 6. FACT: For Jan. 6 he was found guilty in August 2022 of obstruction of an official proceeding and pleaded guilty to five related misdemeanors. He was sentenced Feb. 1, 2023 to 21 months. (DOJ) FACT: On Jan. 20, 2025, President Trump granted clemency to J6 defendants, and Moynihan was released. CHARGE ONLY / NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: In October 2025, news outlets reported that Moynihan was arrested and charged in New York in connection with an alleged threat against a member of Congress.
