David Kennedy Homol — Umatilla, Florida. 1968–2024. He never got a trial. Remember that before anything else. FACT: David Homol died in April 2024 at age 55, while awaiting trial. He was never convicted of anything arising from January 6. Under our law he is presumed innocent, and because he died before a jury ever heard his case, he stays that way — permanently. This archive will not describe him as guilty of a charge he never got to answer. (WUSA9; The Epoch Times) FACT: He was not arrested until January 2024 — three years after January 6. He lived those three years knowing it might come. (WUSA9) FACT: He was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding, civil disorder, and assaulting, resisting or impeding officers. Prosecutors alleged he swung a PVC pipe flagpole at officers. ALLEGED. Untested. No verdict. (WUSA9) FACT: Investigators came across him while preparing the case against his younger half-brother, who had planned to call David as a witness. His brother was ACQUITTED of the felony obstruction count at a bench trial. (WUSA9) FACT: Reporting identified him as at least the fifth January 6 defendant to die by suicide while their case was pending. We name that plainly because pretending it is not happening helps no one. If you are struggling: dial or text 988 in the U.S. Someone will pick up. (Law Officer; The Post Millennial) NEEDS AUTHENTICATION: No verified fundraiser or self-published account located. His family is welcome to tell us who he actually was — we would rather run their words than a charging document. THE CASE RECORD U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Arrested January 2024. Charges pending at the time of his death; case terminated. No conviction. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you — or your family — claiming it is free, forever.
