David John Lesperance is from the Melbourne, Florida area. At the time of his case he was 69 years old, a repairman, and a member of Global Outreach Ministries Church in Brevard County (WKMG-ClickOrlando; Religion Unplugged). FACT: He traveled to Washington and later stood trial alongside his church's pastor, James Cusick Jr., and the pastor's son, Casey Cusick. The legal fight, plainly: Lesperance was found guilty of misdemeanor counts — entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct, and violent entry/disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds. In October 2023, U.S. District Judge John D. Bates sentenced him to 10 days in jail followed by 12 months of supervised release, a $3,000 fine, and $500 in restitution (WKMG-ClickOrlando; Religion Unplugged).
