Douglas Harrington
Pardoned January 6 defendant
Documented editorial-use imageDouglas Harrington is a Wyoming man from Bedford, in the Star Valley — a 69-year-old from one of the most beautiful, close-knit corners of the Mountain West. Douglas Harrington is a grandfather-generation Wyomingite, deep roots in Star Valley country. At an age when most men are settling into quiet retirement, he still cared enough about the direction of the country to travel across the nation and make his voice heard. On January 6, 2021, Harrington was on the Upper West Terrace of the Capitol. Charges are charges: after a July 2024 bench trial he was convicted of civil disorder and assaulting an officer — the government's evidence centered on him swinging a flagpole toward a police line — along with five misdemeanors, and in late 2024 he was sentenced to 40 months. Like every J6 defendant, he was entitled to his day in court, and he took it. On January 20-21, 2025, President Trump's sweeping clemency for January 6 defendants reached Douglas Harrington — one of at least two Wyomingites freed. He returned home to Star Valley. CASE RECORD: United States v. Douglas Harrington, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, before Chief Judge James E. Boasberg. Convicted at bench trial July 2024. See the DOJ Capitol Breach directory and CourtListener for the full docket. This profile is unclaimed. If this is you — or your family — claiming it is free, forever.
