John Earle Sullivan — Salt Lake City, Utah. An unusual file, and we will lay it out honestly. FACT: Sullivan is not from the same political world as most people in this archive. He founded and led a group called Insurgence USA and organized protests under the name Activist John. He describes himself as a photojournalist. (DOJ complaint; Wikipedia) FACT: He filmed inside the Capitol that day, and his footage became some of the most-used video of January 6 in national news coverage — including the moments surrounding the shooting of Ashli Babbitt. Much of what the country saw of that day, it saw through his camera. Whatever anyone thinks of him, that is the historical record.
